Choosing papers that are too thin, could harm your luxury brand. Choosing a car too thick could seem like overkill.
What do you need to know? Here are some most popular scenarios:
Planning to do a leaflet drop? Choose A5 or A6 size printed onto a heavy paper or card, 250gsm-400gsm. This will make it easier to slot through letterboxes.
Sending a mailer? Will the mailer travel on its own (without an envelope)? Choose a heavy card like 400g so it has more durability while it travels through the postal system. Will the mailer be enclosed with other items in a printed folder or envelope? Then a lighter paper such as 170g would be best to keep the weight down and also to retain the feeling of quality.
Do you have the opportunity to display your literature in a local shop or cafe? Choose A6 – think postcard, which is a handy takeaway size.
Do you need printed forms? Choose an uncoated paper or card which is compatible with any type of pen. Choosing silk or gloss causes some inks to smudge and look messy.
Consider the paperweight and finishes carefully. If you have a luxurious brand, then a quality card would be best. If your products are more transactional, then a thinner paper such as 150g silk would be more appropriate.
