We’re having an eggsellent month
As we come to the end of Local Business Week, I, Yvonne Gorman, choose; Flash Jordan Jewellery as my Friday Favourite.
I’m quite biased when it comes to Flash Jordan because my Finance’ chose Neil Jordan and his team to design and make my unique engagement ring, which is amazing.
As part of the presentation pack, there was a little booklet with pictures showing the different stages of the ring’s manufacture, which I thought was a lovely touch because it was a complete surprise to me and so I hadn’t seen it’s development.
Essential Print Services also has a mutual interest with Flash Jordan because we both support the Me&Dee charity. Neil has created a way of being able to donate profits of any laboratory grown diamonds to the charity and selflessly helps Me&Dee Founder, Maria Hanson, to promote her work.
My final top pick for Local Business Week is PridePark.net.

My top pick today is a local charity very close to the hearts of everyone at Essential Print Services, Me&Dee, a charity that provide seaside breaks for families where time is precious. Founded by the inspirational Maria Hanson in 2009 in memory of her cousin Delia who had lost her battle with cancer.
Seaside breaks are offered to those with terminal and life threatening conditions and for bereavement and respite to give a complete break away from home and the hospital environment. These breaks are provided at no cost at all to the recipient with every attempt made to access individual needs and requirements.
Each invaluable experience to create very special memories costs just £200. Me&Dee is self funded and supported by local fundraising, they rely on volunteers and no salaries are paid. I’ve chosen Me&Dee because this is a local charity where your money really can make a difference.
There are a few ways that individuals and local businesses can get involved. How about making Me&Dee your charity of the year? By raising just £200 in the year, your money can go directly to providing one seaside break. The fundraising efforts of your staff can be a great team building exercise too. Me&Dee personally mention each company who get involved, this will aid your Corporate Social Responsibility and will convey a positive message to your clients.
You can even help right now by texting your donation to 70070 by starting your message with MDEE11 and adding the amount in pounds afterwards. If just 20 people donate £10 then one seaside break will be fully sponsored.
On behalf of Yvonne, Rebekah and myself, I’d just like to add how much of an inspiration and positive role model Maria has been to the business. We’re so proud to be involved with such a fantastic and worthwhile charity. The Print Angels would also like to wish Me&Dee the best of luck in the Derby Telegraph Business Awards as they have been named as a finalist.

They can help overcome business problems whatever the size of business and whatever type of installation you may specialise in.
