Essential Print Services in Derby celebrates it’s 5th birthday

Posted on: April 1st, 2016 by Yvonne Gorman No Comments

It’s definitely a Happy Friday today because on this day in 2011, Essential Print Services was born; which means we’re 5 years old! Woohoo.

High five!

Since our Print Evangelist, Yvonne, started the business, we’ve expanded across Pride Park, hatched Print Angels, helped hundreds of local companies, delivered huge amounts of precious print, travelled from Derby to Downing Street, represented small businesses on television, radio, won many accolades – basically, we’ve achieved so much more than we could have imagined.

And that’s all thanks to you – our friends, who consist of loyal customers, fabulous fans, and dedicated print detectives.

From all the Print Angels, we’d like to thank you for your continued support and for keeping us at the forefront of your mind for all your printing needs. We can’t wait to see what the next 5 years will bring.

Here is what your Print Angels think to turning 5:

Yvonne Gorman:
“What a journey the last 5 years have been. I’m absolutely flabbergasted by how much we’ve achieved. I’d personally like to thank everyone who have ever recommended Essential Print Services – even if it didn’t turn into a job, the thought of someone being generous enough to consider us, just blows my mind.”

“To everyone who has ever bought print from us and to those who continue to do so – a BIG thank you for your support. We literally wouldn’t exist without your orders. Thank you to Print Angels, past and present, who’ve supported the business with all their hard work. Kat & Lindsey are doing a superb job in helping the company provide exceptional customer service and quality printing.” Yvonne concluded.

Kat Towler:
“I have been working at Essential Print Services for over a year now and what a year it has been! We are achieving more and more, whilst ensuring that we never lose our colourful personality and exceptional print quality.”

“I cannot wait to see what the next 5 years have to offer for Essential Print Services, so keep watching this space… because I think it’s going to be great!”

Lindsey Greasley:
Though I’ve only been here 2 months, I am amazed that the company is only 5 years old…It has achieved such a lot in such a short space of time!”

“Yvonne and Kat’s knowledge of the print industry mixed with their fresh and exciting ideas has proven to be the perfect formula and I hope to contribute to Essential Print Services’ success in the future.”

Yvonne started Essential Print Services in 2011 in a male-dominated industry, amidst a recession. Her mission; to raise the standards of printed literature for small businesses in Derby and beyond.

The company has since created jobs and supported a number of charities including the Maria Hanson Foundation where Yvonne is also a Trustee.

Known as Derby’s ‘networking queen’, Yvonne is passionate about growing Derby’s economy through collaborations and referrals. She helps to run three non-profit groups including PridePark.net, Derby Hub and the Hallmark Business Group.

Derby born and bred, Yvonne is one of twenty Small Business Saturday UK Champions and was the driving force behind 2015’s event at the council house. This same initiative secured her an invitation to Downing Street in 2013 where she represented her city’s small business community.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to have been recognised for the variety of work I do in the local business community. I never expected to ever win an award with the word, ‘inspirational’ in it – wow! If my work can inspire others along the way, it makes me more determined to continue with my plans.” commented Yvonne Gorman.

Yvonne added, “I’m feeling very proud to be a business woman in Derby. Never in a million years did I ever imagine running my own company, but since I took the plunge, also 5 years ago now, I’ve been able to achieve so much and there are tons of ideas I still want to fulfil. Having my own small business means I get the opportunity to meet and work with hundreds of awesome people. Its hard work but truly amazing.”

Love Print this Valentine’s Day

Posted on: February 7th, 2016 by Yvonne Gorman No Comments

Love is in the air here at Essential Print Services and the Print Angels are dusting off their wings and polishing their harps in readiness of the most romantic day of the year!

In a world full of automated option menus, meaningless recorded messages and bulging inboxes, it’s all too easy to forget that it is actual human beings that keep the important cogs turning.  A few personal words, addressing important customers or clients as valued individuals, will go a long way in making them feel extra special, but above all, feel appreciated.

How to use print to make it personal:

A simple hand written “thank you” at the bottom of a compliment slip or printed invoice will speak volumes when your customer unwraps their order.  Not only will it create that warm, fuzzy feeling but it’ll ensure that it’s your company name and brand they think of first when they come to placing a repeat order.

To REALLY make an impact, you could include a small token of appreciation within the packaging, a nice and completely unexpected little extra! A printed pen or small printed notepad will work wonders. These stationery items will remain on clients’ desks for weeks and months to come.

If you post invoices and statements to your customers, use notelets to include a personal message or reminder in the envelope – it will remind the recipient that there is a real person behind what could be perceived as an automated activity.

Newsletters and brochures can be easily personalised with the client’s name, company and preferences. Printing the clients’ names throughout a document will ensure keep their attention throughout the document.

If you’re struggling to find the right words to say or don’t know what to buy, fear not, we’re here to help! There’s nothing that we enjoy more than talking to people like you about their requirements – we can help make it all happen! Think of us like your printing match makers.

So why not create a loving impression this February 14th and let our top notch printing make you look the business.
